Wales goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey denied Saeid Ezatolahi with a great save, pushing the ball around the post in the 74th minute.

Ben Davies had a great chance in the 83rd minute but this time it was Iran goalkeeper Seyed Hossein Hosseini who came up with a superb save.

Just a minute later, Wales goalkeeper Hennessey was sent off for a dangerous tackle against Mehdi Taremi outside of his own box.

However, Iran did eventually find a breakthrough, when Roozbeh Cheshmi scored with a superb shot from outside the box to hand Iran the three points.
