Queen Sibongile maDlamini, the first wife of the late King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu, who once asked for 5% of his estate, has now made peace with the royal family and is supporting King Misuzulu kaZwelithini.
From the kwaKhethomthandayo Royal Palace in Nongoma, the Queen has returned to her royal duties and is helping King Misuzulu at important events in the Zulu kingdom.
She has joined the other wives of the late King Zwelithini in showing their support for King Misuzulu, especially during the recent gift ceremony led by Queen Nomzamo kaMyeni.
At the event, Queen MaDlamini encouraged King Misuzulu to take more wives to strengthen the Zulu monarchy.
People in the royal court say Queen MaDlamini is respected for being honest and direct.
“She has been praying for the unity of this family and doesn’t want to see the late king’s children divided and fighting. That’s why she supports King Misuzulu and the Zulu kingdom ceremonies,” said a royal family source.
Queen MaDlamini is also active in community development. Last weekend, she told women at the uMkhosi weSivivane event to protect their land for future generations.
“Don’t sell your land to rich people who will build big homes on it. Instead, invest in the land and work on it to create a lasting income for your children,” she said.
She also promised to continue the ceremonies started by King Misuzulu’s mother, the late Queen Regent MaDlamini Mantfombi kaSobhuza, to help uplift rural women.
