QATAR 2022 REPS KICKOFF FRIENDLY SHIFTS

Senegal, Tunisia and Morocco won but Cameroon and Ghana lost as Africa’s five FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 representatives completed their respective opening rounds of September friendlies.

Tunisia on Thursday kicked off the September friendly show in France with a 1-0 win over Cape Verde in Orleans.

Taha Khenissi scored Tunisia’s winner in the 57th minute.

Tunisia now head to Paris for the big one against Brazil on September 27 at Parc des Princes.

Meanwhile, three out of Africa’s five World Cup envoys kicked off their friendly schedules on Friday.

Cameroon commenced their Far East tour on the day with a 2-0 defeat to Uzbekistan in the Northern South Korean city of Goyang.

Hojimat Erkinov and Oston Urunov scored in the 24th and 76th minutes respectively for the Uzbeks.

Cameroon closes their tour on September 27 against hosts South Korea in Seoul.

Morocco is in Spain where new coach Walid Regragui made a winning debut when the Atlas Lions beat Chile 2-0 in Barcelona.

Sofiane Boufal converted a 6th minute penalty and Abdelhamid Sabiri completed the win in the 78th minute.

Morocco has one more South American date in Spain on September 27 in when they face Paraguay in Seville.

The Black Stars Ghana was one of two Qatar envoys on friendly duty in France on Friday.

Ghana were crushed 3-0 by five-time World champions Brazil at Le Havre.

Marquinhos scored one in the 9th minute before Tottenham striker Richarlison scored a brace in the 28th and 40th minutes.

Ghana is back in action this Tuesday in Spain where they will face Nicaragua in Lorca.

On Saturday in France, African champions Senegal beat Bolivia 2-0 at Stade de la Sorrce in Orleans.

Boulaye Dia put Senegal ahead in the 4th minute and Sadio Mane converted a 44th minute penalty.

Senegal wrap-up their September friendly beat on September 27 against Iran in Austria at Motion Invest Arena in Maria Enzersdorf.
