Pyramids open to selling Fiston Mayele

Kaizer Chiefs are on high alert, as Pyramids FC are open to selling Fiston Mayele.

Chiefs could be closing in on a marquee signing as reports suggest Egyptian giants are open to letting go of their Congolese striker, Mayele, at the end of the season. The club has already started scouting for a replacement, fueling speculation that a transfer deal could be imminent.

Recent reports have highlighted that Pyramids FC is actively pursuing Sekhukhune United’s Andy Boyeli, a move that could signal Mayele’s departure. The key question now is whether the prolific goal scorer is on his way to Kaizer Chiefs or if another club will swoop in for his signature.

Mayele continues to make a strong case for himself on the biggest stage in African club football. His impressive brace against AS FAR in the CAF Champions League quarter-final first leg showcased his talent and ability to perform under pressure.

Chiefs eyeing a high-level signing

For Kaizer Chiefs, securing a player of Mayele’s caliber is a priority. Critics have pointed out that some current players are struggling to handle the pressure of wearing the Amakhosi jersey, making a proven striker like Mayele a valuable addition to the squad.

Inside sources have confirmed that Pyramids FC is already planning for life after Mayele.

“To be honest with you, Pyramids are willing to let him go now, and that’s why they are already looking for a replacement. You remember that forward from Sekhukhune United? The DRC striker Andy Boyeli? A move for him is in preparation if Mayele leaves at the end of the season. So, yes, they are preparing for life after Mayele, whether he joins Chiefs or any other team,” a source revealed.

Pyramids to cash in before contract expiry

With Mayele’s contract running until June 2026, Pyramids FC is keen to secure a transfer fee rather than risk losing him for free. “His contract is running out in June 2026, and this could be the best time for Pyramids to make some money before he becomes a free agent. We can’t say how much they are looking at now, but last time it was believed they turned down around R15 million from Chiefs. Since he will be entering his final contract year, they could reconsider that. Also, remember they are already looking at his replacement, which means they are ready to let him go,” another source disclosed.

Will Chiefs secure their top target?

As the transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Kaizer Chiefs to see if they can finalize a deal for Mayele. With Pyramids FC signalling their readiness to sell, Amakhosi must act fast to secure their man before other clubs enter the race.
