After the GladAfrica Championship was wrapped up this past weekend, the promotion playoffs were drawn.

Coming to the last round of the season in the second division of South African football, two teams were already confirmed relegated: TS Sporting and Jomo Cosmos.

Meanwhile the title race was still open, with Richards Bay entering the last round on 53 points and two more than the University of Pretoria.

However, after the Natal Rich Boyz played a goalless draw with Cape Town Spurs, they clinched the title and direct promotion, because TUKS also only managed to draw 0-0 with Hungry Lions.

The third spot had already confirmed before the final day of the season, as Cape Town All Stars did their job early and qualified for PSL promotional playoffs which are set to kick off on 29 May.

The promotional playoffs are held between the 15th-placed team in the DStv Premiership (yet to be confirmed) and the second- and third-placed teams from the GladAfrica Championship.

The draw of the promotional playoffs, though, went ahead and you can see the outcome below:

• 29 May 2022: Cape Town All Stars vs University of Pretoria

• 01 June 2022: DStv Premiership 15th place vs Cape Town All Stars

• 04 June 2022: University of Pretoria vs DStv Premiership 15th place

• 08 June 2022: University of Pretoria vs Cape Town All Stars

• 11 June 2022: Cape Town All Stars vs DStv Premiership 15th place

15 June 2022: DStv Premiership 15th place vs University of Pretoria

The playoffs will be played on a home and away basis and whoever accumulates the most points will earn the final spot in the DStv Premiership for the 2022/23 season.
