PSG sporting director: We’re doing everything to keep Mbappe | Breaking News

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) sporting director is adamant that the French giants will do “everything” in its power to ensure Kylian Mbappe pens a new contract amid growing interest from Real Madrid.

Mbappe has been long linked with a move to Madrid, who reportedly made an unsuccessful offer worth up to 180 million euros ($200 million) for the French star in August.

Mbappe has proven to be a mainstay in PSG’s pursuit of European success despite the arrival of seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi.

The 23-year-old attacker has scored 24 goals this season with Messi, the club’s second leading scorer, Messi, on seven.

He also equalled Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s tally of 156 goals in PSG colours most recently which means Edinson Cavani has scored more goals for the club (200).

“As long as there’s no signature, we’re going to try everything. We’re going to do everything to keep him,” Leonardo told French sports daily L’Equipe.

According to reports, PSG has offered Mbappe an annual salary of 50 million euros on top of a 100 million-euro “loyalty bonus”.

But Leonardo has denied those claims. “It’s not true, we haven’t made a specific offer,” he said.

“The last thing we’ll put on the contract will be the amount.”

Mbappe did admit that he had yet to make a decision over his future, and that he would not talk to Madrid while the two teams were facing each other in Europe.
