PSG Confirm Huge Messi Decision

Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier has confirmed Lionel Messi will leave the club by the end of the season.

Galtier addressed the media ahead of his side’s final Ligue 1 game against Clermont Foot on Saturday, saying it will be the Argentine’s last in PSG colours.

He added that he hopes Messi will be “well received” after sets of PSG fans booed the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner during various stages of the season.

“I had the privilege of coaching the best player in the history of football,” Galtier said, as per Fabrizio Romano.

“This will be his last match at the Parc des Princes, I hope that he will be welcomed in the best way.”

Messi joined PSG from FC Barcelona in 2021 and has made 74 appearances for the French giants, scoring 32 goals and setting up 35 more.

Earlier in the year, it seemed as though Messi was close to agreeing to a new deal with PSG, but several events, including the club’s own fans booing him and a suspension after an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia seemingly swayed his mind.

He has several big money offers, but is understood to be keen to return to FC Barcelona. However, amid the club’s ongoing financial issues, they might not be able to be able to stump up the finances.

Meanwhile, he has also received a massive €400 million offer from Saudi side Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League, where he could follow his long-term rival Cristiano Ronaldo.
