Promising Chiefs Teenager Signs First Pro Contract

Promising Kaizer Chiefs teenager Vicky Mkhawana has signed his first professional contract with the DStv Premiership club.

Mkhawana, 17, has enjoyed a whirlwind 12 months from being promoted to the DStv Diski Challenge squad to starring with the national U17 side at the Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria.

The towering midfielder was fielded as a striker under head coach Duncan Crowie and was one of the standout players in their run towards the quarter-finals as he netted three goals in four games.

Amakhosi have now rewarded him for the potential his shown with a three-year contract as confirmed by his family and youth coach on social media, as he was pictured signing an official contract with the Soweto giants.

Born in 2006, Mkhawana represents the new wave of talent at the club that has become one of their key focuses for the future as the likes of Samkelo Zwane, Mduduzi Shabalala, Wandile Duba have showcased breaking into Arthur Zwane’s first-team this season.
