Prince Kaybee has opened up about the painful loss of his mother, sharing a deeply personal message that sheds light on the cause of her death.

Taking to X, the music producer revealed that his mother passed away due to obesity-related illnesses, a reality he says has left a lasting emotional impact on him.

“My mother died due to obesity related illnesses. Obesity related illnesses kill 30,000 people annually in South Africa, surpassing HIV,” he wrote.

In the same post, Prince Kaybee expressed a sense of regret, admitting that he feels he could have done more to help her manage her health.

“My obsession with weight loss isn’t some joke; it has a deep scar that reminds me I could’ve guided my mother better in being more present enough to manage her weight, failed as a son, but I’m not gonna fail anyone moving forward. GET TO WORK!”

The candid post offers insight into the motivation behind his well-documented fitness journey, which he now frames as something far more personal than many may have realised.

Rather than simply being about physical transformation, Prince Kaybee made it clear that his commitment to health is rooted in loss, accountability and a desire to inspire others to take their well-being seriously.
