Tinotenda Tungwarara, 17, sparked online attention after posting a vlog showing a luxury shopping trip in South Africa.
In a viral video, she and her friends reportedly spent R130 000 on high-end clothes and accessories over a short period.
The clip quickly spread on social media, drawing both admiration and criticism.
She is the CEO and chairperson of Tap and Go Taxi Company, a ride-hailing service started by her father, Dr Paul Tungwarara, a business figure and presidential investment advisor.
Social media users criticised her spending during Zimbabwe’s economic struggles.
Lawyer Fadzai Mahere pointed out that Tino spent a huge amount on her shopping spree in Johannesburg, while teachers earn just US$270 (R4 400) per month ,meaning she spent the equivalent of 67 teachers’ monthly salaries in just two days.
X user @Yell_Taper expressed frustration indicating that there are many Zimbabweans in South Africa struggling to make ends meet.
