President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed his deep sadness at the passing of former Johannesburg Mayor Mpho Moerane.
Moerane passed away Wednesday night after a week in hospital following a vehicle accident.
The President paid tribute to him calling Moerane a ‘multi-skilled leader who placed his talents and creative energy at the disposal of the citizens of Johannesburg.’
Ramaphosa says the ANC will also miss Moerane’s contributions.
He assumed office in 2021 after the City had lost mayors Jolidee Matongo and Geoff Makhubo in quick succession.
