President Cyril Ramaphosa has pledged government assistance to rebuild the lives of those impacted by the mine dam wall collapse in Jagersfontein in the Free State. Dozens of people were injured and hundreds displaced as homes were washed away as water stormed through Jagersfontein on Sunday morning.
Ramaphosa visited residents and promised that an investigation will be undertaken to determine exaclty what caused the disaster. He addressed the community on Monday.
