About PPECB
Founded in 1926, the PPECB provides quality certification as well as cold chain management to exporters and producers of perishable food products. Even as an independent service provider, the PPECB exists by virtue of the Perishable Products Export Control Act, No. 9, of 1983 to provide cold chain services to the perishable products sector.
In 1990, the PPECB was mandated by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to provide inspection and food safety services. Since its inception in 1926, the PPECB has been delivering essential services by strengthening the credibility of South Africa’s export certificate and the export competitiveness of the country’s perishable product sector.
The incumbent will be part of the PPECB’s Organizational Development and Transformation Function, which is a special function within the Human Capital Department. In fulfillment of this role, the successful candidate is to perform a range of administrative tasks in support of the Department’s day-to-day activities.
Who should apply?
Only candidates who possess the following minimum eligibility requirements will be considered for the role:
Holds a bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Agricultural Development/Management
Proficient with the use of MS Office tools
Possess a diplomatic and tactful demeanor
Solid organizational and planning abilities
Possess good intrapersonal, interpersonal, and organizational communication skills
Knowledgeable with legislation and practices relevant to agriculture
Demonstrated skills in data collection, filing, and document control
