Pollard becomes face of new brandy

Posted on August 11, 2025

Handre Pollard has become the latest Springbok to front a boozy beverage – a brandy, aptly called Invictus.

The famous flyhalf recently returned to the Bulls after playing abroad for the past five years.

HANDRE POLLARD FRONTS BRANDY BRAND

On his Instagram, Handre Pollard revealed that he had become the official face of the Invictus VSOP Cape Brandy, which recently launched in Checkers Liquor stores around the country.

In a funny clip, the flyhalf was seen surprising Checkers shoppers whilst in disguise.

After winning his second consecutive Rugby World Cup, Pollard and many of his Springbok pals celebrated their victory with their favourite drinks.

Pollard’s drink of choice was brandy – or “brannas en coke” – which he downed in copious amounts.

BOKS AND BOOZY BUSINESS

Handre Pollard’s venture into the alcohol business is a path many Springboks have taken.

Here are others…

Trevor Nyakane – Nyakane Gin

According to The Noblex, the Springboks prop developed his gin as a “lockdown hobby.”

Steven Kitshoff – Bomb Squad Lager

Playing on his famous membership to the Boks’ “Bomb Squad,” Steven developed the beer alongside teammate Malcolm Marx.

The boozy beverage was launched just weeks before the kick-off of the Rugby World Cup.

They said of their motivation: “We love a second half…It tastes of victory”.

Percy Montgomery – El Centurion 102 Tequila

Springbok Old Boy launched his own range of tequila in 2021. The blonde iconic player donates a portion of his proceeds to underprivileged communities.
