The five-game winning run of Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahli Saudi has come to an end on Sunday evening.
Mosimane and his men had climbed to the top of the log after winning nine of their last 10 games before this weekend, including their last five in a row.
However on Sunday, they lost 2-0 to fourth-placed Riyadh after going down inside the first five minutes.
Al Ahli were not able to recover from Muralha’s early goal, with the visitors adding a second in the 86th minute.
It was only Mosimane’s second defeat in 20 games since moving to Saudi Arabia, but could see them lose the lead of the log, should Al Hazem win their game.
Overall, Mosimane has picked up 12 wins, six draws and just two defeats since taking charge of Al Ahli.
