Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahli Saudi moved back to the top of the Saudi First Division after beating Al Orobah 1-0 on Monday evening.
The win saw Al Ahli go three points clear of second-placed Al Hazem, who still have a game in hand.
January signing Bastos scored the only goal of the night in the 52nd minute to hand his side a tight win against 14th placed Orobah.
Al Ahli now have collected 43 points from 21 games, with tonight’s win being the ninth under Mosimane, while they drew six and lost just one as they continue their promotion push.
Al Ahli return to action next week Monday when they will face Al Orobah, who sit in 12th place.
Mosimane and his men return to action in a week’s time when they will take on ninth-placed Ohod Club.
