Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has sent a message to Orlando Pirates after the South African side qualified for the CAF Confederations Cup final.
Despite losing the semi-final second leg 1-0 at Orlando Stadium on Sunday, the Soweto giants booked their ticket for the final after beating Al Ahli Tripoli 2-1 on aggregate.
The South African tactician, who himself reached the third successive CAF Champions League final with Al Ahly, congratulated the Buccaneers on reaching the CAF Confed Cup final.
He also reminded his friends and followers in South Africa that he had predicted the Sea Robbers would make the final when conducting the group stage draw as draw assistant earlier in the season.
“I want to congratulate my fellow South African team for making CAF Confederation Cup Final. When I conducted the CAF draw, I tipped them to make the final. Thank for making it true,” he stated on social media.
Pirates, though, don’t have much time to sit on their laurels, as the Confed Cup will already take place on Friday, 20 May in Nigeria.
The Buccaneers only have five days to prepare for their second final in the competition after losing the 2015 final 2-1 on aggregate to Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel.
This time around Moroccan side RS Berkane will meet Pirates in the final after elimination TP Mazembe 4-2 on aggregate thanks to a 4-1 home win on Sunday evening.
