Pitso Questioned Over Ahly ‘Favourtism’

Former Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane has been accused of favouritism during his stint at the club over Percy Tau and Luis Miquissone.

Mosimane left the Red Devils last week in a sudden mutual parting after 20 months and five major trophies.

While there’s been speculation around his next move and debates over the legacy he left at the club within Egyptian media, former Al Ittihad and Al Masry coach Mohamed Omar says he paid for favouritism in some of his matches when results weren’t forthcoming.

Despite the board wanting to retain Mosimane after securing three consecutive CAF Champions League finals, Omar is among several who have questioned the South African coach in Egyptian media.

“Percy Tau is a very good player, but Miquissone hasn’t shown good performances with Al Ahly yet, despite that, Mosimane always gave him chances,” Omar said, as per KingFut.

“On the other hand, Mosimane didn’t give other players like Hossam Hassan nearly as many chances as he gave Miquissone, which is unfair.”

The media storm around Hassan has been well documented this season with Mosimane once lashing out at a journalist for the constant questioning over his lack of game time.
