Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has praised his former side Mamelodi Sundowns, saying the team is now even stronger than during his time at the club.
The South African tactician will face his former assistant coaches and several of his old players when both sides will meet in the CAF Champions League on Saturday.
‘Jingles’ had fond words for the DStv Premiership champions who want to win this year’s CAF Champions League this campaign, but also insisted that his team want to collect maximum points when the two giants meet.
“Sundowns plays smart football and moves the ball a lot, but we want to win against them tomorrow,” he said, as per Yallakora.
“Al Ahly is a big club, so it’s natural that the motives for the players are great.
“The philosophy of playing at Sundowns has not changed. They still maintain the way of playing, but the team has developed with the new players and the team is now stronger than during my period with them.”
Al Ahly started their CAF Champions League group stage with a goalless draw against Al-Hilal Omdurman, while Sundowns have collected four points after beating Al-Hilal 1-0 before drawing with Al-Merrikh.
