Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahli have managed to salvage a draw despite playing more than 45 minutes with 10 men.
Al Ahli faced 13th-placed Al-Qadisiyah and were made work hard after conceding in the first minute of the game.
Things became even more difficult when Ali Majrashi got sent off in the 44th minute.
However, Mosimane’s side showed their mental strength and fought back thanks to a Hassan Al-Ali goal in the 53rd minute.
The draw sees them stay in sixth spot but move to 25 points, just two behind the promotion spots.
Mosimane and his men still have one game in hand over their closest rivals, Al Alrabi (5th with 26 points) and Al Akhdood (4th with 27 points).
Al Ahli next face log leaders Al-Faisaly, who’ve lost just two games so far and lead the table with 33 points from 15 games.
Overall, Mosimane has won four and drawn five of his nine matches in charge, and is still unbeaten.
