Pitso Already Linked With New Club

Less than 24 hours after his Al Ahly departure Pitso Mosimane has already been linked with a new club.

The South African tactician asked Al Ahly’s board to be released from his contract, which president Mahmoud El-Khatib and Co. agreed to, announcing the coach’s departure on Monday.

The news sent shockwaves through the African continent, with many wondering why Mosimane would step away from the Club of Century after winning five trophies in 20 months so far.

However, latest reports by FilGoal state that Mosimane has already received a lucrative offer to join a club in the Qatar Stars League.

‘Jingles’ had previously been linked with a move to Al-Rayyan SC, but the Egyptian publication claim a different club approached the South African coach.

The 57-year-old finished his playing career at Qatari record champions Al Sadd, who appointed former Watford and Valencia coach Javi Garcia after the departure of Xavi Hernandez, when he joined FC Barcelona.

South African journalist and radio host Maskepe Matsebane also stated that Mosimane has, in fact, two offers from Qatar, while Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr are also interested in his services.

The Qatari Stars League is set to kick off on 1 August and it remains to be seen whether Mosimane will be found on the sidelines of one of their clubs.
