Pirates sign midfielder Ndlondlo on transfer deadline

Orlando Pirates have signed midfielder Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo from Marumo Gallants right on transfer deadline.

The Buccaneers coach Jose Riveiro certainly hopes Ndlondlo will add creativity to the team’s midfield this season.

Pirates have confirmed the signing of the diminutive player on a three-year contract from Gallants.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo,” the club’s website says.

The 27-year-old joins the Mighty Buccaneers on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee from Marumo Gallants.”

The Soweto giants have since highlighted the qualities that compelled them to sign Ndlondlo.

“Blessed with superb technical ability, creativity, an incisive range of passing and a willingness to work hard for his team, Ndlondo has shown to be adept in both in attack and defensive situations,” Pirates said in a statement.

The playmaker has joined the Buccaneers at an undisclosed fee.

NDLONDLO SPEAKS ON BUCS MOVE

Ndlondlo has since opened up on his dream move, saying he never imagined he would join to Pirates.

“With the window closing today, I didn’t think a move would happen, but football is an unpredictable game. Anything is possible. Here I am today speaking to you as an Orlando Pirates player,” he said.

Ndlondlo also reflected on his career at Gallants, where he established himself as the leading scorer and goal creator-in-chief.

“I would like to express my gratitude to everybody at Marumo Gallants. To the players, coaches, and management, thank you for a wonderful couple of years…and to the fans, you will always have a place in my heart,” he said.

“As I said before, it’s a dream to be here, and I look forward to joining up with my new teammates. I come here looking to make a meaningful contribution to this great institution.”

Pirates released players such as Linda Mthambo, Tshegofatso Mabasa, Ntsikelelo Nyauza, Happy Jele and Gabadinho Mhango while signing new ones, including Tapelo Xoki, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Miguel Timm, Azora Matrose, Evidence Makgopa, Eva Nga and Shane Saralina.
