Orlando Pirates have explained the absences of Thembinkosi Lorch, Kermit Erasmus and Miguel Timm are due to injuries.
The Buccaneers missed the three players in their first two games of the season, with head coach Jose Riveiro refusing to talk about individual players after the match against Stellenbosch FC.
However, the club have confirmed the absence of Lorch is due to injury, while new signing Katlego Otladisa picked up a knock in the 1-0 defeat to Stellies.
“I can confirm that Lorch has been ruled out due to injury. He is joined by Otladisa who suffered a blow to the knee after a poor tackle from an opposing player,” said physio Kutlwano Molefe.
Pirates also stated that Erasmus, Vincent Pule, Miguel Timm and Kabelo Dlamini are all nursing injuries as well.
Molefe, though, stated that these injuries are not long term and some players could soon return to training.
“As a medical department, we have acted swiftly to address the injuries and this is key in ensuring the swift turnaround of the injured players to getting ready,” he added.
“Through these interventions, we are confident these players will be back soon.”
Pirates next take on Sekhukhune United in a replay of the Nedbank Cup final in Saturday’s MTN8 quarter-final.
