Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City have announced their starting line-ups for this afternoon’s DStv Premiership clash.
With Supersport United dropping two points mid-week, Pirates have a chance this afternoon to make use of the opportunity and move back into second place.
This won’t be an easy fixture for Sea Robbers but they understand what is at stake.
Jose Riveiro’s side has had a good season so far but finishing second would be the cherry on top, as they have won the MTN8 and are in the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup.
Eric Tinkler’s side might have thrown away their chance of finishing in the top two when they throw away a 2-0 lead against AmaZulu.
The Cape Town-based side is now chasing the top-four finish so that next season they can have an MTN8 quarterfinal home fixture.
City has never won a game in Esigodini but this time around it could be different with Pirates losing against Mamelodi Sundowns and Chippa United respectively at their home ground in the 2022/23 league campaign.
Here is how they line up:
Pirates XI: Chaine, Sibisi, Mthethwa, Maela, Mako, Hotto, Monare, Timm, Saleng, Dlamini, Dzvukamanja.
Subs: Mpontshane, Monyane, Motshwari, Ndlondlo, Makaringe, Makhaula, Makgopa, Erasmus, Marou.
CT City XI: Keet, Mkhize, Gordinho, Fielies, Mokeke, Mokhuane, Rhodes, Goedeman, Mayo, Darwin, Zapata
