Ahead of next week’s Soweto derby, Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter says they’ll have a lot to consider before the game when it comes to both selection and tactics.
Baxter was speaking after his team’s 1-0 win over Baroka on Saturday, that saw him leapfrog Pirates into second place on the DStv Premiership table.
Baxter says Pirates will be a very different opponent to Baroka, and they will still need to decide which system to play.
However the coach says they’re in good shape, and he should have Bernard Parker back, while Samir Nurkovic, Leonardo Castro and Lebohang Manyama should be in even better shape.
“Pirates is a completely different game,” Baxter told the club’s media department.
“Will we play with four at the back or will we play with the three centre-backs? That remains to be seen.
“We do have some fresh legs, I’m expecting Bernard to be back.
“Samir’s got a good hour under his belt, Leo’s got time under his belt.
“You know we got Lebo on the field, and a few more minutes for him.
“So we’ve got almost a full squad to look at now and we’ll just suck on this caramel for the rest of the evening and then tomorrow it’s back to work.”
