Painful! Manenberg Couple Shot Dead While Sleeping In Their Wendy House (PHOTOS)

While sleeping in their Wendy home, a young Manenberg couple was reportedly shot to death. Ebrahim Paulsen, 25, and his wife Moenika Julisen, 26, were killed in Jade Crescent in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

They were vas aan die slaap when gunmen allegedly removed the burglar bars from their side window and opened fire, killing them instantaneously.

After hearing the skote, Bonita Adoons, who lives in the main house, claimed she and her family hurried to the couple’s hok.

“Ons het uit gekom toe gaan ek by die venster om, toe sien ek daar le hulle twee vol bloed,” the shocked woman told the Daily Voice.

“They quietly removed the burglar bars from the window and put their hand through and shot the two of them.”

The pair had been living on the farm since 2019, according to Bonita, and she described them as “very rustic mense.”

“They didn’t bother anyone, they were a happy couple. The husband wasn’t involved with gangs, he went to the mosque almost every day,” she explained.

Their three small children were not living with them.

Detectives were still examining the area for clues when reporters arrived on Tuesday.

Elvina Adoons, Moenika’s friend, said she will miss her tjommie because they always had lekker moments together.

Speaking further about the late lady, a neighbor said, “She was a person who was just in her house, ons het altyd hier voor gesit.”

“It doesn’t feel lekker, it is very hartseer. Every time I think about it, I can still picture it.”

However, Police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie confirmed to reporters that the double murder is being investigated.

“Manenberg police have opened a double murder docket for further investigation following the death of a couple, 26 and 25 years old in the early hours of the morning on Tuesday, 1 August at about 4 am at their dwelling at Jade Crescent, Manenberg,” he added.

“Preliminary investigation suggests that the couple were asleep in their Wendy house when they were accosted by unknown gunmen who opened fire on them. They sustained fatal gunshot wounds to the head and chest and succumbed to their injuries,” he said.

There have been no arrests, but Pojie has urged mense to come forward if they have any knowledge of the crime.

Ward councilor Mogamat Cassiem added: “Today we lost two young people who had so much to live for. These senseless killings and gang warfare are holding our community ransom.”
