Oskido’s Big Day Out unveils full lineup, announces Kaya959 partnership

Oskido’s Big Day Out has unveiled its full artist lineup for its third edition, bringing together some of South Africa’s biggest names in house, kwaito and dance music.

The festival will take place at Huddle Park in Johannesburg on November 28.

The 2026 edition will feature two stages, including a newly introduced Namba Stage dedicated to deep and soulful house music.

The festival has also announced a partnership with radio station Kaya959, which organisers say will help bring the event to a wider audience.

Curated by veteran DJ and producer Oskido, Big Day Out celebrates the music and artists who have shaped South Africa’s dance music culture across generations.

The Main Stage lineup includes B.O.P, Mdu, Liquideep, Trompies, Oskido, DJ Cleo, Glen Lewis, DJ Fresh, DJ Mbuso, DJ Ganyani, Nokwazi, Durban’s Finest, DJ Cndo and DJs at Work.

The artists represent different eras of South African music, from the kwaito sounds that dominated the dance floors of the 1990s and early 2000s to the house anthems that continue to influence the country’s music scene.

The newly introduced Namba Stage will cater to deep and soulful house enthusiasts, featuring Sir LSG and DJ SoulDiva, Dark Horse, D’General, Mr Shane, Chymamusique, Sculptured Music and Bobsta B2B Sabz.

The second stage is intended to give house music fans a dedicated space to reconnect with established sounds while experiencing the music and DJs that continue to shape the genre.

The partnership with Kaya959 is another major development for the 2026 event.

The collaboration brings together the radio station and a festival built around South Africa’s musical heritage, with the aim of connecting more listeners with the artists and sounds that have influenced generations.

Kaya959 marketing representative Tumi Rabanye said the partnership reflected the station’s commitment to culture and creativity.

“For Kaya959, Oskido’s Big Day out and our partnership represent more than entertainment but rather the value of creativity, culture-framing and time. Oskido, personifies these attributes and has multiplied it through the other artists he’s touched. We believe great positive impact and fun needn’t be mutually exclusive and as a culture brand ourselves, there’s no time like the present to show up,” Rabanye said.

The partnership positions the festival as more than a live music event, highlighting the cultural influence of the artists whose work has helped define South African dance music.

This year’s festival also follows Oskido’s recognition with the Order of Ikhamanga, awarded by the Presidency in 2026 for his contribution to South African music and culture.

The honour recognises his influence on the country’s music landscape and his role in inspiring generations of artists.

Through his work as a DJ, producer and cultural figure, Oskido has been associated with the development and popularisation of South African dance music, particularly kwaito and house.

The upcoming festival will bring together established performers and dance music enthusiasts for a celebration of that musical legacy.

Tickets are available exclusively through Webtickets, with general admission, VIP and premium hospitality options.
