Music producer Oskido is on a mission to revive some of his greatest musical tracks to adapt to the current trends of the arts.

The musician, real name Oscar Mdlongwa, has recently shifted his attention to working on the Afro House Heritage project aimed at revisiting his classic catalogue through cutting-edge Afro-house remixes in a fusion of heritage and innovation.

“This project is about reimagining my classics for today’s global Afro-house stage, keeping the roots but speaking the language of now,” he said in an interview with news publication TshisaLive.

It is further reported that as of this month, the TSA Mandebele Remix Package will drop in three phases between August to October this year. This will see some his greatest hits being reworked to create a new, unique flavour and feel to the South African music landscape.

He explains that the project intends to build a bridge between generations and continents, while a major focus is aimed at keeping African sounds alive and thriving in the global club scene.

Oskido encourages young artists to start embracing re-invention.

“Your catalogue is a library, not a closed book,” he said.

Meanwhile, he has since provided fans with a taste of what can be expected for the future during one of his recent performances at a festival.

Captioning his post, he wrote, “Oskido’s Afro House Heritage loading…Woza Nana (@amemedj Remix) premiered during my DJ set at @anywhereinyourcity.”
