Oscar Mabuyane has been re-elected as the Eastern Cape chairperson of the African National Congress (ANC).

This after defeating his opponent, Babalo Madikizela, at the provincial elective conference of the ruling party. His victory follows a tense campaign marked by several disputes over branch membership formations, court injunctions, and even deadly attacks on members.
