Orlando Pirates without talented midfielder for Sekhukhune match

Orlando Pirates will be without midfielder Masindi Nemtajela when they face Sekhukhune United on Saturday.

The Buccaneers travel to Polokwane in search of maximum points as they look to reclaim top spot in the Betway Premiership. However, the 24-year-old midfielder will miss the clash after accumulating four yellow cards this season, three in the league and one in the Carling Knockout Cup final.

Nemtajela has been instrumental in the heart of midfield during his debut campaign, playing a key role as Orlando Pirates lifted two trophies.

He has featured in 14 matches across all competitions and his impressive performances earned him a call-up to the Bafana Bafana squad.

In his absence, head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is likely to turn to either Kabelo Dlamini, Patrick Maswanganyi or Thalente Mbatha to anchor the midfield.

The Buccaneers will also be eager to settle the score after suffering a defeat to Babina Noko in their opening league encounter. However, it promises to be a tough assignment against a Sekhukhune United side that topped the standings during the early stages of the season.

With Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs having won their midweek games, it puts pressure on the Sea Robbers to win their game in hand and maintain their advantage over the rivals.

A win for Orlando Pirates on Saturday at the Peter Mokaba Stadium will move them back to the top of the log with a game in hand. Defeat or a draw will give them less advantage going into the next features.
