Orlando Pirates v AmaZulu: Date, kickoff time, TV channel

Posted on April 14, 2026

Orlando Pirates will host AmaZulu this weekend in a crucial Betway Premiership encounter as they look to revive their fading title hopes.

The Buccaneers are currently trailing log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by a single point, although the Brazilians still have a game in hand, a factor that puts added pressure on the Soweto giants.

Anything less than a victory for Pirates could all but end their chances of securing a first league title in 14 years.

With just six matches remaining, the title race is no longer entirely in their hands. However, Sundowns’ involvement in the CAF Champions League could yet open the door, as their congested schedule may lead to dropped points.

When do Orlando Pirates play AmaZulu?

Orlando Pirates will face AmaZulu on Saturday, 18 April, at the Orlando Amstel Arena. Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00, with the match set to be broadcast live on SuperSport 2.

A win for Pirates could see them temporarily climb to the top of the standings, depending on other results. However, even a draw would be a major setback, especially with Sundowns holding games in hand that could stretch the gap at the summit.

Simply put, Orlando Pirates must secure all three points against AmaZulu if they are to keep any meaningful pressure on their title rivals.

The Buccaneers have won 17 matches this season and accumulated 55 points. If they win all their matches, they will end up with 73 points.

Can Pirates win the league or will Sundowns retain their title?
