Orlando Pirates superfan ‘Makhalanjalo’ dies

Orlando Pirates Football Club has expressed its condolences following the passing of long-standing and passionate supporter Charles Fantisi, affectionately known as “Makhalanjalo”.

In a Facebook message shared with the Buccaneers community, the club paid tribute to Fantisi’s unwavering support and dedication to the team over the years.

‘Heartfelt condolences’

“Our heartfelt condolences go out on the passing of long-standing and passionate supporter, Charles ‘Makhalanjalo’ Fantisi. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and the Buccaneers community during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace,” the club said in a statement.

Messages of sympathy

Fantisi was widely recognised among supporters for his loyalty to Orlando Pirates and his presence within the club’s passionate fan base.

The Buccaneers community – known for its vibrant support both at home matches and across the country – has also joined the club in mourning the loss of one of its devoted members.
