Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng reveals he is a father

Orlando Pirates winger Relebohile Mofokeng has surprised fans after revealing that he is a father.

The 21-year-old Buccaneers star, who has been with the club for four years, had never previously mentioned having a child in interviews or on social media, making the revelation a major surprise.

Mofokeng disclosed Orlando Pirates’ BucsCamp: Brotherhood episode, which aired on Wednesday.

While introducing himself to his teammates, the talented winger revealed that he has a daughter, although he did not disclose her age. He did, however, show a photo of her to the squad.

“My name is Relebohile Mofokeng, I’m from Sharpeville,” he said.

“This is a picture of my hopefully future wife,” he added while showing a photo of his girlfriend.

“For those who don’t know, I have a daughter,” Mofokeng revealed.

The Pirates star also paid tribute to his mother, crediting her as the driving force behind his football journey.

“For me, the most important person is my mom because she has always been there,” Mofokeng said. “She attended my games from the start, from kasi tournaments. Tshepang (Moremi) will tell you – he knows.

“She’s the one who keeps me motivated because we grew up in a very small house and we didn’t have much. When I look at her and where we come from, it pushes me to keep going,” he added.

On the field, Relebohile Mofokeng has endured a relatively quiet season by his high standards.

After a slow, injury-disrupted start to the campaign, the 21-year-old returned to form in November and went on to score the winning goal in the Carling Knockout Cup final in December.

The Buccaneers are in action this weekend in the Betway Premiership against Sekhukhune United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

How old do you think Rele’s daughter is?
