Orlando Pirates might part ways with midfielder.

Depending on their progress in pursuing another targeted midfield strongman, Orlando Pirates may make a decision regarding the future of midfielder Makhehleni Makhaula.

Makhaula hasn’t played much for the Buccaneers since joining from AmaZulu FC in January, so his future there is in jeopardy..

The 34-year-old central midfielder has only made four appearances across all competitions this season, and all of those have come off the bench.

Makhaula hasn’t appeared in any of the Bucs’ previous 13 league games, which suggests that the team has already begun to make plans for his post-playoffs legacy by looking for a successor.

The player’s deal with the Soweto giants is scheduled to expire in June, and sources indicate that Darrel Matsheke of Stellenbosch FC is the player coach Jose Riveiro is targeting to take his place in the midfield.

“Orlando Pirates are interested in signing Darrel Matsheke from Stellenbosch FC and if they do succeed in that it would spell bad news for Makhehleni Makhaula’s regarding his future with the club,” said the source
