Orlando Pirates injury list ahead of Chippa United clash

Orlando Pirates will travel to Gqeberha without several key players ahead of their clash with Chippa United.

The Buccaneers have recovered somewhat after a poor start to the Betway Premiership. After back-to-back defeats, Pirates have now won two consecutive matches and will look to make it three on Sunday.

Their run of good results also includes cup success, having booked their spot in another MTN8 final after edging out rivals Mamelodi Sundowns this past weekend.

Orlando Pirates are currently placed ninth in the Premiership standings with six points on the board, following wins at home to Stellenbosch and league newcomers Orbit College. Now back on the road, the Sea Robbers are on a quest for their first away win in the current league campaign.

Victory on Sunday could potentially propel them as high as the top three, depending on the weekend’s results across the league.

Which Orlando Pirates players will miss the fixture?

Relebohile Mofokeng was sidelined in midweek against Orbit and is unlikely to feature against Chippa on Sunday afternoon. Captain Nkosinathi Sibisi and Deano van Rooyen remain on the mend after picking up knocks during the course of the season.

Orlando Pirates and Chippa United will battle it out at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday afternoon in a Betway Premiership.

Can Pirates get their first win on the road?
