Orlando Pirates FANS will cost Bucs the league title

Orlando Pirates legend Mlungisi ‘Professor’ Ngubane has lashed out at a section of Bucs supporters.

Ngubane believes many fans are hurting the team more than they realise.

He went as far as claiming some fans’ behaviour could end being the reason why the club doesn’t win the league.

Well, what exactly is reason behind his words? Let’s take a look at the details below.

Orlando Pirates legend hits out at armchair critics

Orlando Pirates legend Professor Ngubane has come out firing against fans who abuse players on social media.

‘Mlungisi’ believes fans have already played a role in killing the confidence of Masindi Nemtajela earlier in the season.

The Bucs legend also believes abuse aimed at Yanele Mbuthuma and Evidence Makgopa is only harming the team.

Furthermore, Ngubane has pointed out fans’ favouritism. According to him, when fan-favourite Relebohile Mofokeng has a bad game, fans are silent.

Speaking to KickOff, here’s what he had to say about the gravity of armchair critics at the Buccaneers.

“Orlando Pirates supporters please stop what you are doing to your players. Support your players in difficult times because that’s when they need you the most to lift them. Pirates will end up not winning the league because of their supporters. Social media fans will cost Pirates the league,” Professor Ngubane told the publication.

Bucs drop to second

With nine games to go, Mamelodi Sundowns have dethroned Orlando Pirates at the top of the league’s log-standings.

While all is not lost just yet, Abdeslam Ouaddou’s side will have to be at their perfect best from here on.

This is because Mamelodi Sundowns look to have struck form at just the right time. Pirates on the other hand are not looking as imperious as they were in the first-half of the season.

The good news for Orlando Pirates fans is there’s still a lot of football to be played, with many more twists and turns in store.
