Orlando Pirates have reportedly placed a hefty price tag on 20-year-old winger Relebohile Mofokeng, as European clubs ramp up efforts to lure the South African star abroad.
Israeli publication Sport5 claims that Maccabi Haifa have officially entered negotiations to sign the rising Soweto talent. The club has tracked Mofokeng for several months and now appears ready to table a formal offer.
According to Sport5, the Buccaneers have made their stance clear.
“Orlando Pirates [are] demanding approximately R31.2 million for the 20-year-old talent, as well as a percentage of any future sale.”
This valuation underlines the high regard in which the club holds Mofokeng, who has already achieved remarkable feats for someone his age. Given his growing status in South African football, many view this figure as a potential bargain for any club willing to meet the terms.
Maccabi Tel Aviv also in the picture
Maccabi Haifa won’t have a free run at Mofokeng, though. Reports suggest that domestic rivals Maccabi Tel Aviv are also monitoring the situation closely, with both clubs recognising the winger’s potential to shine on the European stage.
Despite being just 20 years old, Mofokeng has become a key figure in the Pirates first team, earning admiration for his fearlessness, creativity and maturity beyond his years.
While Maccabi Haifa already boast depth on the left wing, potential departures among their foreign contingent could create space for a new arrival. If those moves materialise, Mofokeng could find himself stepping straight into the spotlight.

The Buccaneers are reportedly unwilling to let Mofokeng leave without securing a slice of his future success. By insisting on a resale clause, Pirates hope to maintain a financial stake in his journey should he attract bigger European suitors down the line.
