Orlando Pirates coach picks ‘unsung’ Bucs star player!

Orlando Pirates have had a number of players lifting their hands up and starring for the club during the course of the current season.

Monnapule Saleng, arguably the standout performer of the season, along with the likes of Miguel Timm and Nkosinathi Sibisi have left fans in awe at times.

Thembinkosi Lorch has also been stealing the plaudits since his big return from injury.

But a surprise player has earned the praise of Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro!

Riveiro has lavishly praised creative midfielder Kabelo Dlamini.

The 26-year-old has featured in 24 matches this season, scoring once and assisting five more goals!

Orlando Pirates star’s importance underrated – Jose

“We have a lot of quality in our front department, I’m not going to discuss Lorch now, probably Dlamini, people sometimes don’t realise how important he is for us.” the Orlando Pirates coach told Citizen regarding Dlamini.

“How much he helps us in our build-up process and I’m so happy for the boy because on Saturday he managed to get one goal which is going to be very important for him for the future,”

In other news, Orlando Pirates could soon welcome another top African signing.

According to reports, the Buccaneers have identified TP Mazembe defender Tandi Mwape as a replacement for Olisa Ndah should he leave the club.

The Zambian defender has spent the last four seasons at TP Mazembe after joining them Kabwe Warriors.

Mwape has been a regular for Mazembe, featuring in six continental matches this season alone for the club.

He also has 20 caps for the Zambian national team since making his debut in 2019.

Bucs eye African defender as Ndah replacement?

“As far as I know, Pirates have been monitoring him and his progress. He a very good central defender.” an insider told SoccerLaduma.

“He is a regular for both club and country and he would fit very well into the Orlando Pirates system.

“I can’t say much on how and when he would be travelling to South Africa but let’s wait for the off season then we can see what happens after that.”
