Oprah Winfrey has opened up about her weight loss journey, a battle she has been transparent about throughout her broadcasting career.

The Oprah Winfrey Show host has found a method that works wonders for her.

In her recent interview, Winfrey told People magazine that she blamed herself as she battled to keep a handle on her weight over the years.

The 72-year-old media mogul started using a GLP-1 weight-loss medication two and a half years ago when she realised that she could not fight obesity without help.

“I thought it was about discipline and willpower. But I stopped blaming myself,” said Winfrey.

“I feel more alive and more vibrant than I’ve ever been.”

Stedman Graham’s support for Winfrey through her weight highs and lows

According to Parade, Winfrey has been with 74-year-old businessman and author, Stedman Graham, for over 40 years.

Of Graham’s support for her through her physical transformations over the years, Winfrey said: “He has absolutely been nothing but supportive through all of it.”

“When he met me, I was 200 pounds. And it’s never made one iota of a difference.”

Winfrey’s new book

Winfrey is promoting her new book with Dr. Ania M. Jastreboff, Enough: Your Health, Your Weight and What It’s Like to Be Free.

Winfrey’s recent health scare

In June 2024, The South African reported that Winfrey was rushed to hospital due to unspecified stomach issues.

Gayle King, Winfrey’s bestfriend, explained to millions of viewers why Winfrey was absent during a TV show on which she was set to appear.

Winfrey had to cancel her appearance as she was in the hospital at the time. Medical personnel rushed her to hospital due to a serious stomach issue.
