Opening Bid For Maart Rejected

Sekhukhune United have rejected opening bids for their captain Yusuf Maart, iDiski Times understands.

The 26-year-old who’s currently on international duty with Bafana Bafana has emerged as one of the finest midfielders in the DStv Premiership with consistent displays helping Babina Noko retain their top-flight status.

His performances have naturally attracted several suitors with the likes of Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates said to be interested in his services and with three years left on his current contract, this publication understands Sekhukhune placed a R10-million valuation on their midfield talisman.

It’s understood that Maart is keen on the idea of making a bigger move for his career but will not force anything due to the club playing a pivotal role in his career revival after being dumped by the Buccaneers back in 2020.

As things stand, Sekhukhune received an opening bid for his services and a ‘couple of enquiries, but it fell well short of their vaulation. However, they are open to the idea of allowing Maart to take a step forward in his career, should any ‘serious’ offers arrive during the off-season.

Maart featured 28 times for Sekhukhune in their debut top-flight campaign, scoring three goals and registering two assists across all competitions.
