Orlando Pirates have been handed a huge boost with Olisa Ndah back in full training.

The Nigerian centre-back, who has been out since September 2024 with a double leg fracture, has rejoined his Orlando Pirates teammates for full training.

The Buccaneers have also offered the latest on the club’s captain and Bafana Bafana international Nkosinathi Sibisi.

Ndah’s return gives new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou both leadership and composure at the back during a crucial stretch of the season.

“Pirates been boosted by the imminent return of defender Olisa Ndah, who has been back at training while,” the club stated on their website.

While Ndah edges closer to a comeback, captain Nkosinathi Sibisi remains on the sidelines. The skipper picked up a knock earlier in the campaign and is still undergoing rehab.

Orlando Pirates have not put a timeline on his return, leaving the team to manage without one of their most influential figures for now.

“Captain Nkosinathi Sibisi continues to recover from a knock picked up earlier in the season.”

In the meantime, Orlando Pirates’ central defence has been manned by the young duo of Lebone Seema (22) and Mbekezeli Mbokazi (19).

Key points:

  • Olisa Ndah is back in full training and ready for selection after a year out.
  • Captain Nkosinathi Sibisi remains sidelined with no return date confirmed.
  • Orlando Pirates’ defence gains experience with Ndah, but still feels the loss of their leader
  • Youngsters Lebone Seema and Mbekezeli Mbokazi keeping guard in central defence.
