Swallows have sacked Dylan Kerr as head coach of the club with immediate effect.

This comes after Swallows suffered a 4-0 humiliation at the hands of Golden Arrows at Princess Magogo Stadium on Saturday evening.

During the mixed zone with the media after the game, Kerr asked to be excused as his chairman David Mogashoa phoned him in the middle of giving his assessment of the game.

After he finished the phone call which lasted about 10 minutes, he then said the chairman had requested a meeting on Monday where his stint at the club was sealed.

Kerr also said he took the responsibility for the loss and doesn’t have an issue if the club decides to part ways with him.

Following the loss, the Dube Birds dropped to 14th on the DStv Premiership with eight points after eight matches.

News reaching iDiski Times is that Ernst Middendorp might be on his way to replace him at the Dube Birds. Middendorp is unattached after leaving Maritzburg United at the end of last season.

Strangely, Kerr and Middendorp are represented by the same agent – Paul Mitchel – which makes the move unlikely or likely to happen.

Kerr, known as a rescue man, was appointed by Swallows in November last year, replacing Brandon Truter.

As Swallows were battling at that time, they ended up retaining their DStv Premiership status via the playoffs, winning two, drawing one and losing the other of the four allocated matches.

Overall, Kerr was in charge of 32 matches for Swallows. He won eight, lost 12 and drew 12, averaging 1.13 points per match.
