Stellenbosch FC have announced the departure of defender Alan Robertson midway through the season.
The 28-year-old featured 11 times for Stellies in 2021/22, including seven starts but has now left, the club announced on Tuesday.
“The club confirms the departure of Alan Robertson,” reads a statement by the club.
“With 89 caps for SFC, his legacy will forever remain in our history books.
“The club has allowed the player to explore other options and we wish him well with his next venture.”
The centre-back only featured for one minute since 20 November, when his fortunes at the club seemingly changed.
At this point, it is unknown why Robertson leaves the club at this stage of the season, with the transfer window being closed.
