Sekhukhune United have announced Brandon Truter as their new head coach, as reported by iDiski Times on Thursday.

The club confirmed the news on Friday, saying ‘Brakkies’ received a contract until 2025, replacing Kaitano Tembo, who was sacked recently.

“Sekhukhune United Football Club is delighted to announce the appointed of Brandon Truter as Head Coach on a contract until 2025,” the club said via a statement.

“Truter joins ‘Babina Noko’ after having impressed the Board with his long-term vision for returning the team to the level the team want to compete at, coupled to his drive and determination in achieving that.

“Truter will be assisted my MacDonald Makhubedu as the only assistant, in a revamped Technical Team with further announcements to be made in due course.

“Meanwhile former Assistant Coach Thabo Senong has been appointed as Head of Development.”

The new coach said: “It is with great honour to be appointed as Head Coach to this ambitious Club, and I’m hugely excited by the challenge ahead. There’s a lot of work ahead of us and I’m eager to get the ball rolling and start working with the players.”

“I would like to thank the Chairman of the Club, Mr. Simon Malatji, and his Board for the confidence in me and I greatly appreciate the opportunity.”

Sekhukhune ended the first half of the season before the FIFA World Cup break in 15th position, with Truter being tasked to lead Babina Noko back higher up the table.
