Slovakia international striker Pavol Šafranko has returned to Romanian club Sepsi OSK after terminating his contract with Mamelodi Sundowns this week.
Šafranko, 27, joined Sundowns in July 2021 in a deal worth a reported €700,000 but found it hard to establish himself in the starting line-up due to the form of Peter Shalulile.
And with Sundowns moving in a new direction, tactically, they have opted to sign Marcelo Allende and register Abubeker Nasir which left the towering striker unregistered.
The 2021/22 domestic treble champions confirmed they parted ways with the player and hours later he’s now been confirmed by his former club Sepsi as their latest arrival.
During his solitary season in South Africa, Šafranko scored nine goals in 28 games and won the league, Nedbank Cup and MTN8 trophy.
