Portugal coach Fernando Santos has announced his squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
On paper, A Selecao are blessed with talent, with Cristiano Ronaldo leading the squad into his fifth World Cup.
Portugal have been drawn in Group H, alongside Ghana, South Korea, and Uruguay. They kick off their tournament against the Black Stars on 24 November at Stadium 974 in Doha.
The 2016 UEFA European Championship winners enter the tournament in Qatar in mixed form, after two 1-0 defeats in their last three games saw them miss out on the UEFA Nations League finals.
Portugal’s best finish in World Cup history was third place in 1966, while they haven’t gone past the last 16 stage in their last three tournaments.
