Orlando Pirates have announced the decision to part ways with captain Happy Jele after he spent 16 years at the club.
Jele had extended his deal until June 2022 ahead of last season and the club had an option to extend it by another year, but opted against activating it. The Buccaneers confirmed the news via a statement on their website.
“After 16 amazing years with us, we bid farewell to our future Hall of Famer,” the statement read.
“Our central defender and Club Captain, who has reached the end of his contract, will be leaving the club. This marks the end of Happy Jele’s momentous career with us.

Jele made over 400 appearances for the club and won 8 trophies during his time with the first team.
