France coach Didier Deschamps has announced his official squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The defending champions suffered some heavy injury setbacks, with both Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante ruled out due to injury.
Meanwhile, Raphael Varane made the selection despite his recent injury in the colour of Manchester United.
Overall, Deschamps is leaving 12 of his 2018 World Cup winners at home, namely: Kanté, Pogba and Corentin Tolisso, who are all injured, Thomas Lemar, Blaise Matuidi, Benjamin Mendy, Steven Nzonzi, Adil Rami, Djibril Sidibé, Samuel Umtiti and Florian Thauvin were not Selected
Les Bleus have been drawn in Group D alongside Denmark, Australia and Tunisia, and will open their tournament on 22 November against the Socceroos.
