Former Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer has lost his job at Lokomotiv Moscow just two weeks after Fadlu Davids joined the club.
Zinnbauer, 52, was appointed as head coach of Lokomotiv ahead of the season but has now parted ways with the club following a run of poor results.
Out of 12 league games, Lokomotiv only won two, while drawing three and losing seven, but their last two games were a 2-4 and 0-4 defeat.
As a consequence, the club parted ways with Zinnbauer and Sports Director Thomas Zorn.
There was no comment on whether Zinnbauer’s departure will have an impact on Davids’ position as assistant coach.
The South African only joined Zinnbauer two weeks ago in Russia. Lokomotiv won the first game after Davids’ unveiling 5-0 in the Russia Cup against Khimki but then lost 4-2 to Ural and 4-0 to Sochi, leading to Zinnbauer’s dismissal.
