Official: City Sign Downs Striker

Cape Town City have officially announced the signing of Thabiso Kutumela from DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Kutumela joined Sundowns at the beginning of the 2021/22 season from Maritzburg United.

At Sundowns, the 30-year-old won four trophies including two league titles but last season Kutumela only made 11 appearances in all competitions.

The player wasn’t happy with the situation a d asked the club to go out on loan as he seeks more game-time. He previously worked with coach Eric Tinkler during his days at Maritzburg United and the City boss had already announced the deal over the weekend.

City recently got knocked out of the MTN8 by Kaizer Chiefs, but remain with a 100% record in the DStv Premiership after winning both games and sitting second in the standings.
